Here in Ohio, my first endeavor with the planer bobber shall be fishing the Olentangy River. The Spot? well thats to be determined...
Probably start Whetstone park area. The Olentangy runs North and south on the west side of the park.
The river is wide in this area. Lots of places to bank fish for smallmouth and largemouth bass, spot drop the planer bobbers. Also, exposed islands to fish from when wading in the river.
Mostly the west side of the river has the deep pockets holding bass / fish. So, casting the planer bobber and manuvering with current to get over to the far side of the river will be a challenge! More on this subject soon!!

To catch largemouth or smallmouth bass using planer bobbers it is important to use the right lure or bait Bass large or small seem to like the presentation the planer bobber gives to texas rig with powerbait rubber worms river based small mouth bass like presentation of shallow diver 1-2 feet below the surface when trailed by planer bobber
Trolling for smallmouth bass in areas like Dale Hollow Tennessee are ideal ways to catch huge smallmouth bass With planer bobbers you can rig for port or stbd trolling with a 1-20 foot leader to find the depth of schooling smallmouth bass, put out one planer bobber @ 10 foot depth and another @ 20 foot depth
Use 8-12 foot rapala medium diver lure or deep diver lure also smallmoth bass love artificial grub rig on planer bobber In finger coves you can control drift troll for large mouth bass using planer bobbers and again the texas rig with powerbait rubber worms using about 10 foot leader or whatever the depth may be in the cove controlled drifting and trolling both sides of the boat for large mouth bassa mechanical rapala lure on side away from shore works great with planer bobber for catching bass

Fish day or night with the planer bobber for big bass you will always know where your line is if night fishing with the planer bobber it glows in the dark
Use a flash light or car head light to recharge glow top planer bobbers glow lasts for hours with each recharge
Use glow in the dark planer bobbers in ponds lakes rivers canals bays or inlets big fish swim and feed at night Dont be fooled by calm night time waters big bass and huge stripers are just below the surface feeding on bait fish
A planer bobber and and a small rapala minnow 1 to 2 inches long shallow diver can be trailed behind a glow top planer bobber at night with surprising results
Also throw your cast net Castnets will get live minnows to trail behind a planer bobber Again at night this method produces huge strikes Normally the planer bobber begins to move slowly after bait or lure has been taken by a striper or bass Warning expect the fish to be huge Have your net ready The fish may be so big lipping the big bass or striper may be frightening
Ultimate night time fishing with planer bobber Ultimate bass Ultimate stripers ultimate big fish will be found using planer bobber and a trailing lure or bait Cast out planer and rig up to 75 feet walk the bank and let the planer drift up to about 3 minutes then reel in or walk the bank a little more repeat the drifting process Hold on cause here it comes a lunker bass a whopper striper just cant resist this set up
